In november i grew a disgusting beard.

I have lived my whole adult life with a mustache so facial hair is nothing new to me. The beard is a thing that you dont know if you can grow unless you try. more importantly you dont know you shouldnt until you try. i grew out my normal level of stubble and then it kind of didnt get better, just longer. It itched a lot the whole time and pretty much everyone made fun of me for it. it looked like shit and i felt like shit. but i said i would try it for a month and i am a man of my word. i was hoping i would look like drake but unfortunately that wasnt the case. i spent my november in pain and solitude. the beard drew me away from the people i love and shut me down. but i knew it was worth it. through my pain i gained access to something powerful in december. something to make it all worth it…

a goatee
yes mother fucker. this shit feels powerful. i feel like i can spit on the floor and no one will say anything to me. people used to avoid eye contact because of the shame my beard brought them. now they look away out of fear. people see me and they know i have hate in my heart because i wear it on my face. if you see me and i havent shaved this off, dont say what up, i cant tell you what might go down..

when i got IDed at the gas station the guy made a joke about how i dont look like my ID photo. he couldnt believe the coward with a mustache turned into the beast with the goatee but i assured him it was me. theres not really much else i could do with my facial hair before i go back to the mustache but i might try out the soul patch. maybe stayed tuned on the next blog for that one..

Music crap i liked of the year
its kinda difficult to remember what came out this year. i am probably forgetting some stuff i really liked but heres some music in no particular order that came out this year.

Elias Ronnenfelt – Heavy Glory

I was pretty obsessed with the singles when they were coming out and the album delivered. Some cool leonard coheny moments. i dont usually care a ton about lyrics but this record has a lot of awesome lines. he says legumes in a song, thats wild. worm grew a spine is probs my fav.

Mj Lendermann- Manning Fireworks

ya ya ya pitchfork will write about this better than i can.

A Country Western- Life on the LAwn

Awesome rock. great is the grip of the hawk is one of the catchiest riffs i heard this year. this record goes some cool places. i like the kinda pavement/bar rock swag on the dreamer. music that makes me wanna play music.

Still Ruins- S/T

Sophistapop kings from the bay area. Love this EP, came out in january so i almost forgot about it. Left Against is probably my fav song off this. Frankie is good at fortnite too

Chanel Beads- Your Day Will Come

pitchfork will prbably write about this too. love this crap. As a B*rista i play this one a work lot and dont really get sick of it. rewarding of multiple listens. Urn or Police Scanner are my favs.

Shallowater- There is a Well

Had the privilege of playing with these fellas in Lubbock Texas and they blew me away. its like americana slint or something. They write really smart songs while remaining super catchy. Angels is probably my favorite of the album. straight up ballad mode on that one. i remember the drummer was really good.

Her New Knife- Chrome is Lullaby

Jwar family gone unwound mode kinda. good music to feel menacing too. They should play a show in Salt Lake City, UTah sometime.

Guitar- Casting Spells on Turtlehead

I said these weren’t ranked at all but this is probably one of my top spots for the year. I think Guitar is the only band more difficult to google search than Worlds Worst. I love this album. it sounds like all my favorite bands smashed together. awesome home recording. another Jwar Soldier.

Mk.Gee- Two Star and the Dream Police

ya ya ya i know. its dope. sounds like genesis written by a guy wearing panda dunks.

Cindy Lee- Diamond Jubilee

First time i listened to this album i was driving through NYC to the airport and i felt like i was in a movie. love the production and how tight and messy this record can be. Live show blew me away aswell. some really cool guitar work

The Lemon Twigs- A Dream Is All We Know

Real House Wives of Salt Lake City.

A lot has changed. I am now on Season 5 episode 7. I feel like i have to walk back my unwaivering support for Jen Shah. She is not Shamazing i am sorry.

Heather: Heather seemed to get a big head at the end of season 4. She had an epic moment when she called out monica so i will give her props for that. however going into season5 i feel like she thinks she is the main character. I dont like the ozempic swag she has going but i am happy she has reconnected with Whitney. I think i will read her book soon.

Meredith: Meredith has fully fallen off. She stirs the pot in a way that is repetitive and predictable. I forget that she has a law degree and uses it fully against the other girls. Also the whole batmitzvah thing kinda makes her seem like a zionist.

Whitney: shes on her self healing journey.

Lisa: She is the new main character. I think shes the only girl who has direct beef with every other house wife. They hate on her but that fuels her.

Angie K: I feel like i can tell she practices her lines before filming. She is down to get down tho. i respect the willingness to start yelling.

Mary: My new goat. She is so crazy i love her. still dont understand why shes on the show. she doesn’t actually like any of them. When she called Heather inbred and then double downed on it, it won me over.

Bronwyn: wtf kinda name is that.

bring back monica for an episode, i just wanna see what happens.


I think thats it for the blog. the only question i got on the last one was from mike lunch and it said something about my thoughts on star trek movies
